NewsFour has published many articles regarding the building of an incinerator in the area since 1994. The first incinerator, referred to as Bio Burn, was never built due largely to very vocal opposition from the community. Plans were then put forward for an incinerator to look after the waste generally in Dublin and once again there was and still is great opposition to this initiative. We thought you might be interested to chart the progress of this venture.

St. Matthew's Church is 300 years old this year and readers will not doubt be interested in a brief history of the church and to know about their plans to commemorate this historic occasion.

Enable Ireland is working very hard to raise funds with their Action Week to take place from 20th to 26th September. They have sent a letter to NewsFour thanking the community for their assistance in the past and asking them to continue to support this very worthy cause.

The ESB Dublin Fringe Festival is taking place from 20th September to 10th October and once again they are bringing the amazing Spiegeltent to Dublin. This year it will be situated at George’s Dock. The Dublin Docklands Development Authority are hosting a Docklands Fringe Market from 24 – 26 September to coincide with this event.

The Green Room, at the Holiday Inn in Pearse Street have a host of great entertainment going on in September and you might like to go along and check it out.

Following on from the very successful launch of the Alternative Careers in 2002, the RDS is delighted to announce the 2004 seminar. 'Alternative Careers in Music' is directed at students who have a serious interest in a career in music outside of performance or teaching. The daylong seminar will take place on Saturday 9th October in the Minerva Suite of the RDS.
