I would like to take this opportunity to thank the people of Dublin and surrounding areas for supporting the work of Enable Ireland in their community. Without their generosity, we would not be able to provide our services for people with disabilities and their families.

This year, Enable Ireland inaugurates a special Action Week on Disability from 20th to 26th of September. The theme is “Support for Families”. Support from your readers will ensure that the families of over 3000 children and adults will benefit through additional and new services.

Since 1948, Enable Ireland has been accompanying the families of thousands of children and adults with disabilities such as cerebral palsy, spina bifida, muscular dystrophy and developmental delay.

We have completely redesigned our traditional yellow ribbon emblem. The unique new emblem, which is a button badge, will be for sale nationwide for just €2. Badges are available at Enable Ireland’s 14 services, in our 19 Enable Ireland shops, in selected credit unions, Argos shops and street sales in various locations around the country. Additionally people can also purchase a pack of 20 badges (Friendship Packs) of emblems for their work place. Call 1800 204 304 for further information.

This campaign is an exciting new development for everyone associated with Enable Ireland- our service users, parents, staff and supporters. Our campaign message of “Enabled & Equal” strengthens our mission to enable people with a disability achieve equality, independence and choice. All monies raised during the week will help fund our range of essential services, such as in-home support, respite breaks, assistive technology and general support, training and counselling services.
