NEW LITTER MANAGEMENT PLAN FOR DUBLIN

Dublin City Council is set to adopt a Litter Management Plan for the next three years for Dublin City.

“The Labour Party on Dublin City Council is committed in improving the cleaning regime for Dublin to the same standard as other capital cities.

“Merely increasing the budget will not reduce the amount of litter on our capital streets, it is the responsibility of every citizen, not just the Council,” said Labour Cllr. Kevin Humphreys.

Dublin City will in 2008 have 550 staff and additional temporary staff during the summer and holiday season with a budget of €37 million, removing 25,000 tonnes of litter and waste from the streets and roads of Dublin city.
