RINGSEND AND IRISHTOWN COMMUNITY CENTRE NEWS
By Lorraine Barry

May Day Parade 2010
Last year saw our first May
Day Parade (pictured right) held
in the centre which included a
parade around Ringsend and
Irishtown, dance performances,
music and a barbeque.

This year promises to be even
bigger and better! As always,
this would not be possible without
the help and support of our
community. So if you would like
to come on board the May Day
Parade Committee then please
contact The Manager at the centre
on 01 6604789.

Or indeed if you have any
thoughts or ideas on what we
could do or if you would like
to offer your services then we
are open to all suggestions. We
would like to invite all groups
from the area to take part. This
yearʼs May Day Parade takes
place on Bank Holiday Monday
May 3rd 2010. Let the excitement
commence!

Easter Camp
RICC is holding its Easter
Camp running from Monday

showing the children a fantastic
time with a dance show, an Easter
egg hunt, sports and plenty
more fun and games to keep the
little ones amused.

Registration day takes place in
Ringsend and Irishtown Community
Centre on Wednesday
10th March between 10am and
12pm.

Flower Arranging– The Ringsend
Roses

A group of local women have
come together in RICC to share
their love of flower arranging.

Their beautiful displays have
caught the communityʼs attention
and the ladies enjoy exchanging
and experimenting
with different ideas, colours,
fresh and artificial flowers in a
purely amateur fashion.

The group is open to both men
and women and meets every
Wednesday in the centre from
10am-12pm. So if you would
like to get your fingers green
or are interested in availing of
one of their beautiful creations
then contact the centre on 01
6604789.

AIB Better Ireland Programme
– RICC Needs Your Votes
RICC are delighted to announce
that we have been selected
as one of the shortlisted
groups for the AIB Better Ireland
Programme for AIB Sandymount.
Established in the 1990s, the
Better Ireland Programme was
formed to provide funding for
local community groups working
in areas of youth, arts and
communication, heritage and
environment and community development.

RICC would like to invest
the funding into our own Youth
Club which has been running
since September 2009 and The
School of Rock. There is a total
of €10,000 to be shared among
the three selected groups. With
your help, we can secure the top
amount of €5,000.

If you would like to help us,
please vote for RICC between
the 15th February and the 15th
March 2010 by texting SANDYM
followed by a space, followed
by A to 53103 or go online
and click on www.betterireland.
iewww.betterireland.ie, select

for your support.
