LAVISH ‘LES MISERABLES’ FOR MARIAN COLLEGE IN NEW YEAR

Marian College Musical Society will present its most ambitious musical to date when it stages the superb 'Les Miserables' (school edition) on January 30th and 31st and February 1st and 2nd at 8pm nightly in the college hall in Lansdowne Rd. (beside the Dart station).

Usually, the show is staged in early December, but it's a measure of the challenge of this show that they are giving themselves an extra six weeks to get it right. Last year's 'Grease' was a huge success, but Ray Ryan believes this will surpass even that.

There is a superb cast assembled, including the outstanding Ennis Twins, Matthew and Owen, whom you may have seen on RTE's 'Class Act' in September. The girl principals are all from Muckross Park.

A number of the boy principals from last year are back again, including Daniel O'Neill, Stephen Clarke, Christopher O'Connor and Shane Williams, as well as two guest students who will really 'wow' the audiences.

Playing 'Gavroche' is first year student, William Ralph, whose father Billy, from Sandymount, was in 'Oklahoma' in 1981.

Peter O'Donoghue, the stage manager, is in the throes of constructing barricades for the revolutionaries, Bernard Lynch and Grainne McCarthy direct, while music is in the hands of Ray Ryan (retired music teacher), and new music teacher, Denise Goggin.

So, make a beeline for Marian College for a 'must-see' show. For bookings and further information you can phone Ray at 087-9195012, or email him at rayryan66@yahoo.com
