DOG RESCUE TEAM!
By Christy Hogan
On
Saturday 6th December a small dog was trapped on the muddy banks of the
Dodder at Ringsend Bridge. When the fire brigade arrived the dog led the
poor firemen a merry dance, swimming from one muddy bank to the other and
back again. The exasperated firemen left after a short time with the dog
still on the Dodder bank.Who knows what might have happened but for the intervention of the ‘Canon Mooney Rescue Team’. Jason Murphy, Aidan Barry, Stephen Murphy and Gerry Mullen all from Canon Mooney Gardens, plus local construction worker Sean Nash sprang into action to try and save the wet and frightened dog. The four young boys climbed down a ladder on to the Dodder bank. After catching the shivering animal the boys held her while Sean Nash placed her in a sack and brought her up the ladder to safety. Well done boys. The rescued dog is shown above with Sean Nash, Jason Murphy Aidan Barry, Stephen Murphy, and Gerry Mullen |
