Irish CricketerThe O’Brien brothers from Railway Union in Sandymount have emerged as star players on the Irish Cricket team taking part in the World Cup in the West Indies.

Niall, who plays with Northhants in 2007 was voted Man of the Match in Ireland’s historic win over Pakistan.

A big contingent from Railway Union travelled to Jamaica to support the team, including proud parents Brendan and Camilla from Gilford Road.

Sister Ciara travelled from London to lend support. The O’Briens travelled back to Barbados and Grenada to watch the last three matches in the Super 8 series.

Members of the Ireland cricket team and management at the ICC Cricket World Cup in the Caribbean have handed over US$1,000 to help towards the cost of heart operations for children in Guyana.
