THE EDITOR'S CORNER

I came back from visiting my son Eddie and his family in North Carolina (see picture above of Wrightsville Beach) along with daughter Rachael and her children, and the work was all but done. Grainne, Fergal, Eugene, Miriam and the rest of the team had kept things going in my absence, what a relief. I had a great holiday and am ashamed to say I only saw rain once in three weeks. Never mind I hope we have a great September to assuage my guilt!

Once again we bring an eclectic selection of news and views from our team and contributors. My dear friend Sister Agnes passed away since our last issue and I am so glad I had the opportunity to say goodbye to her a few days before her death.

Thanks to Dick Pollard from New Zealand for sending us news of the biggest swimming pool in the world with some great pictures. Stephanie has written about the new coffee shop and bakery, Il Valentino, in Pearse Street. I have to confess that I call in on a regular basis and the early morning barista sometimes puts a heart on the top of my frothy milk. What a way to start the day!

I hope you enjoy this edition of ‘NewsFour’. The crossword is particularly easy this time so we are expecting lots of entries for the €25 gift token prize. We are always pleased to hear from you, so please keep in touch.
