HURLING, HOLLYWOOD AND TEN YEARS OF THE GAA MUSEUM!

The GAA Museum celebrates its tenth birthday on 26th August with an action-packed series of events and a day of free admission to museum activities and stadium tours. Other GAA Museum summer events include art workshops, summer schools and the ongoing Museum Lecture Series which continues with a talk by Dr. Sean Crosson entitled ‘Hurling and Hollywood’ on 28th August.

Other highlights of the museum’s Summer programme is a second instalment of the popular new series of the Legends Tours. The second series will feature former Meath football Manager, Sean Boylan, Dublin footballing legend, Charlie Redmond and former Clare goalkeeper and current Waterford hurling manager, Davy Fitzgerald. These special tours will relive some magical moments at the stadium as they were experienced by players, managers and commentators.

The museum is also running a special photographic competition until the end of August for primary school children in association with FUJIFILM. Prizes include All Ireland tickets, a digital camera and a class trip to Croke Park.
