BALLOON RELEASE FOR CANCER

One of the Luas trams is pictured above at the terminus of the new extension from Connolly Station out to the Point Depot. See full article on page three for some suggestions about making this service more accessible to residents of Dublin 4.

We got some great pictures from the re-opening of St Maryʼs Lawn Tennis Club in Belmont Villas in Donnybrook. The event was offi cially opened by the Minister for the Environment, Heritage and Local Government John Gormley, TD, who is also pictured with Councillor Dermot Lacey in the full article on page eight.

Pictured below at the launch are Eabha Jesson and Jenny Kennedy.

There is no escape from Christmas! The fine crib above is part of the lavish Christmas decorations within Ringsend and Irishtown Community Centre. Johnson Court, top right, fairly sparkles, with Powerscourt Townhouse in the background. Both pictures are from our photographer John Cheevers. Meanwhile, our Editor Christopher spotted the unusual fl ying object in his own photograph of Poolbegʼs twin stacks. We believe a certain Mr S. Claus may have been using them as a navigational aid for his practice run over the Dublin 4 area. Sources close to the Claus camp report that Mr Tillyʼs Christmas illuminations on Bath Avenue also come in very handy when using a low-fl ying, reindeer-powered vehicle on a winterʼs night.
